The 40th International Colloquium on Occupational, Safety & Health in Agriculture Development was organized by the International Section of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) on Prevention in Agriculture on 22 & 23 September 2022 in Rome. This hybrid Conference was co-organized with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Rome, and the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS), Poland.
This event addressed the important subjects of safety & wellbeing in agriculture under various topics – Vision Zero and social inclusion in agriculture development, economic and environmental determinants of prevention, new technologies and digitalization in agriculture, return to work including the post-COVID-19 approach and other topics for sustainable development.
The objective of the Colloquium was to present recent achievements and highlight good practices regarding various aspects of prevention in agriculture. Dr. Sashikala Chandrasekar, Chair of Scientific Committee on Rural Health was one of the speakers on the topic – “Pesticide issues in developing countries”.
