The 5th International Biocidal Congress, Turkey was held in the virtual mode from 5 to 7 March, 2021. It was organized by the Biocidal Occupational and Environmental Health Association, Cukurova University & Ege University, Turkey.
Members from Scientific Committee on Rural Health were the invited speakers in the Congress. SC Rural Health members were also in the Congress Committees. Congress Chair was the President of the Biocidal Occupational and Environmental Health Association, Prof. Muhsin Akbaba from Cukurova University, Turkey. Prof. Claudio Colosio from University of Milan and Dr. Sashikala Chandrasekar, Chair, SC Rural Health were in the Organizing Committee. Prof. Gert van der Laan and Prof. Frank Van Dijk from the Foundation for Learning & Developing Occupational Health, The Netherlands were in the Scientific Committee of the Congress.
The Inaugural address was given by the President of the Congress, Prof. Akbaba. Prof. Claudio Colosio and Dr. Sashikala Chandrasekar were among the Key note speakers. Prof. Colosio spoke on: “Source and symptoms of COVID-19 among hospital workers in Milan: A Comparison of the first and second waves of the epidemic”. Dr. Sashikala Chandrasekar’s topic was “Pesticides Issues in India”.
There were many invited speakers from WHO, ILO, FAO, Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, Cukurova University, Ege University, and various national and international organizations and universities in Turkey. Many oral and poster presentations in the biocidal field were on the important topics of the Congress.
