6th International Biocidal Congress was organized in Antalya, Turkey from 17 to 20 November 2022 by the Biocidal Occupational and Environmental Health Association in association with Ankara Ufuk University, Çukuorva University, Ege University, and İstanbul Bilgi University. ICOH Scientific Committee on Rural Health (SCRH) participated in the Conference as in the previous years.
SCRH Members were invited to be in the various Conference committees. Prof. Muhsin Akbaba was a member of the Honorary Council and Dr. Burak Kurt was one of the Congress secretaries. Prof. Claudio Colosio and Dr. Sashikala Chandrasekar were members in the Regulatory Council and Prof. Gert van der Laan was a member in the Scientific Committee.
Representatives from WHO, FAO, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Public Health, Turkey, academic personnel from various universities and many international speakers participated in the conference. There were many informative and interesting presentations which were appreciated by the delegates very much.
Prof. Claudio Colosio and Prof. Muhsin Akbaba were among the speakers in the inaugural session of the Conference.
Prof. Gert van der Laan was the moderator for the workshop – Efforts to develop regional cooperation in sustainable and integrated pest management in which Dr. Burak Kurt was one of the speakers.
Prof. Gert van der Laan chaired the Rural Health session and addressed the gathering on the topic – Integrated Pest Management and Rural Health. Prof. Federico Maria Rubino presented on – Pesticide Practices in Agriculture: Exposure and Risk Scenarios and Preventive Tools. Dr. Sashikala Chandrasekar, Chair of SCRH presented on – Pesticide problems in rural areas.
