American Society of Safety Professionals, India Chapter, Professional Development Conference was held from April 28 – 29, 2023 at AC Tech campus, Anna University in Chennai, India. The conference was organised in collaboration with Department of Applied Science and Technology and Centre for Industrial Safety, Anna University and ICOH Scientific Committees on Occupational Health in Construction Industry and Rural Health: Agriculture, Pesticides and Organic Dusts.

The Theme of the Congress was Promoting Safety and Well-being. Sub Themes were¨ Construction Sector ¨ Occupational Health ¨ Rural Health ¨ OSH in Agriculture ¨ Quality & Reliability ¨ Sustainability, ESG ¨ Technology ¨ Vision Zero

President of ASSP India chapter and Chair of ICOH Scientific Committee on Occupational Health in Construction Industry, Dr. Krishna Nirmalya Sen from the organizing committee welcomed the gathering. Dr. Sashikala Chandrasekar, Chair of Scientific committee on Rural Health and many dignitaries from Anna University and ASSP India chapter participated.

Conference was attended by delegates from many countries and students from Anna University. There were plenary sessions, technical and poster sessions, and safety short films. Talents in the related fields were recognized, including delivery of ASSP India Chapter Awards.

Prof. Gert van der Laan, Prof. Claudio Colosio and Dr. Sashikala Chandrasekar from SCRH were among the scientific committee members.
