SC Rural Health Webinar on COVID-19
COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a big wave of disruption and has put a great strain on the public health system globally. Health and safety of the health care workers is of utmost importance in these days to tackle the consequences of this pandemic.
Scientific Committee on Rural Health organised a Webinar on COVID-19 on 9th June 2020. SCRH members and professionals involved in the management of COVID-19 from various countries participated in the Webinar. Professor Claudio Colosio, Past Chair of SC on Rural Health was the speaker for this Webinar.
Prof. Colosio is the Head of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health and WHO Collaborating Centre for Occupational Health at the University of Milan, Italy. He was involved in the management of health care workers in the midst of COVID-19 crisis at the Saints Paolo & Carlo Hospitals, Milan.
Prof. Colosio spoke on the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy and about the protective measures taken for the health care workers in the hospitals. It was an interesting and interactive session with useful discussions on this subject. Participants had the chance to discuss and to clear their doubts about the various aspects of the disease and the treatment part. The Italian learning and experience will be valuable for everyone in the management of this pandemic.
